Well, after 7 months on my own, I had about 4 weeks back with the family. It was awesome, and I can’t explain how great it was to just be near them. We had a lot of fun including a great whale watching trip. I also got to see a few things that I’d been missing like baseball and swim lessons.
There wasn’t much going on with the blog at the time, partly because I was helping CinC HOUSE to get a few of her things off the ground. However, it was mostly because it was hard to step away from the family for long enough to talk about how much I loved being.
The fact that I’m writing this probably means one of two things. The novelty of being home has either worn off or there’s no reason to break away from the fun because I’ve had to leave the family again. Unfortunately, it’s the latter of the two options.
I was pulled back to Rhode Island for a little more training. The good news is that it’s only for about 6 weeks this time, and this is (so far) the best school that I’ve ever been to. The bad news is that the family couldn’t come with, so I’m back out into the world with only Truman, Sweet Peach, and Footy for company.
While it was a painful moment for everyone (more on that in a later post), I’m going to try to revive Military Dad to where it stood about a year or so ago when I was writing everyday, and I had visitors from all over the world on a regular basis. This decision has everything to do with the fact that I miss connecting with all the readers and absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I’m living on base without a car…
