While our son is still deeply entrenched inside the Terrible Twos, this has been a pretty good week for the family. We got to spend a lot of time together, and for the most part, everyone got along. My office Christmas party was this week, so the family and I met all my co-workers at Dave and Busters. We had an ok time, but we really wish that there would have been more games in there for kids. I realize that it’s sort of marketed as a Chuck E. Cheese’s for adults, but I’m sure there’s plenty of people that bring their kids there.
Saturday, however, we had a great time. We went to one of my favorite places on earth, Medieval Times. I wrote a post about why I love the place so much. That particular post also has one of my dark secrets in it (ok, it’s not actually that dark).
As far as this blog, everything is going well. It’s been up and running for about 3 months now, and I’m still having fun writing it. I’ve added three additional pages. They can be seen on the right side. “About” is just a quick introduction to who I am and why I blog. “Contact Me” is pretty self-explanatory. I also felt like it was necessary to add a “Disclaimer” page to ensure that everyone is aware that these are my opinions only. That probably goes without saying, but any time you where a uniform, it’s better to be safe than sorry. I’ve also managed to add 3 badges to my site without shutting half of the internet down. I know that’s a fairly easy process for most people, but when you drive ships for a living, working with HTML is pretty tricky.
One of those badges is for the Dad Revolution website. I’ve written a couple guest posts for the site in the past, and I have now been asked to become a regular contributor to the site. I’m incredibly excited, and it’s a great opportunity. You can see my first official post for that site here.
All of my posts from the past week are linked below. As always, I’m pretty proud of all of them, but if you only have time to read one, I would recommend The Santa Debate. Thank you for visiting Military Dad, and I hope that you have a terrific week.
The Santa Debate – I noticed something while volunteering at my daughter’s kindergarten, and it made me question whether I approach Christmas the right way with her.
Guest Post and Good News – This is just an announcement of sorts regarding the fact that I have been asked to contribute to the Dad Revolution website. There are also links here to my previous guest posts there.
It’s Good to Know That They Love Each Other – There was a practical joke this week that went a little bit too far, but it turned out that we got some good information out of it.
My Happy Place – This is the post describing why I love Medieval Times so incredibly much.
The Day That I Grew Up – This is the story about the exact moment when I realized that I was no longer a kid.
The Revolution Grows – This is my first official post on the Dad Revolution site. It explains what the site means to me and why I’m so jazzed to be a part of it.
