Buying books for your kids isn’t always easy. If you’ve ever walked into the kids’ section of your local bookstore, you know that it can be a little overwhelming. There are a ton of different books about different subjects for different age groups. Since you, as the parent, will usually be the person reading the book, it’s also important to find one that your kids will enjoy without driving you insane. It takes a talented author to write a book that can hold a 2 year old’s attention without making his father want to rip his hair out.
Therefore, I’ve decided that every Thursday, I will do a book report to pass on information about some of the books that I have read with my kids and either really enjoyed or really hated. We have an incredibly wide range of children’s books, so you will have heard of some of them while others will be a surprise. If you have any suggestions for books that I should review, please let me know. If I don’t have the book, I’ll take a trip to the local library and check it out. If you would like to write your own review and publish it here, please do so. Just click on the “Submit” link and follow the instructions there.
My children are 5 and 2, but we never get rid of books, so the range of books that I review will go from infant to early elementary. I may even throw in one of two adult books that I’ve read that would be really fun to read to your kids over a few different sessions. Hopefully, these weekly book reports will help you find some new books and authors that you can use to share your love of reading with your kids.
