I enlisted in the United States Navy at the tender age of 18. After boot camp, I spent a few years in South Carolina, with the majority of my time spent in a couple different schools. At some point, the Navy decided that it would be a good idea to send me to college in order for me to become an officer. Therefore, they sent me back to the Midwest about as far from an ocean as you can get.
While attending college, I met my beautiful wife completely by accident. We dated for about 18 months before we got married, and I have never stopped loving her since. After graduation, we moved to Virginia where I spent about 4 years on two different ships. My gorgeous daughter was born there, and she has never stopped amazing me.
After Virginia, we spent 2 years in Northern California where I had the opportunity to earn my master’s degree. Our son was born there on a beautiful Friday afternoon. I thought that I had everything figured out by then, but he has continuously proven me wrong.
We currently live in beautiful San Diego, CA. Altogether now, I’ve been in the Navy for over 13 years. I’ve been married for almost 8 of those, and I’ve had kids for the past 5. During that time, I’ve made 3 major deployments and countless smaller underways.
I started this blog for a few reasons. I think there’s value to gaining insight into the different challenges and opportunities that are inherent in military families. I think there are stories that need to be told and want to be heard. I also enjoy blogging, so I want to share my passions with you. If you have any comments or questions, I will do everything in my power to answer each and every one. Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to writing more.
